Are there any additional rules on exporting hand made carpets from Bangladesh to USA?

As far as I know there are no such restrictions. But your production must be done under the control and must have certifications: certificate of origin, inspection certificate, product testing certificate, health certificate, phytosanitary certificate and/or fumigation certificate if required. Good luck!

Bangladesh is the beneficiary of US Generalized System of Preferences (GSP) Program (low or no tariff penalty). Bangladeshi products such as golf equipment, sleeping bags, bone china and porcelain kitchen/ tableware, cereal based prepared foods, hand-loomed woven cotton carpets and other textile floor coverings, spectacles and goggles, headgear other than rubber and plastics, etc. are eligible to enter duty-free under GSP in the US market. There are no additional rules for exporting handmade carpets from Bangladesh to USA. Go forward!

    • Hi Amir!

First of all it depends on your deal with the buyer. If he asks you to send him a sample of your product and if the value of this product is high you can request him to make a payment for it. Also, in many countries, there are government financial assistances to send sample products to foreign countries. A lot of people do it outside Export Portal, but it is wrong and unsafe. I recommend you to do it with the help of Export Portal. Good luck!

    • Samples with care
      03/09/2016 02:14 PM

Before exporting a product sample an exporter should also know the Government policy and procedures for export of samples. While sending a product sample to an importer, it is always advised to send samples by air mail to avoid undue delay. However, if the time is not an issue then the product sample can also be exported through proper postal channel, which is cheaper as compared to the air mail. Extra care should be taken in order to avoid the risk associated in sending a costly product sample for export. Secrecy is also an important factor while sending a sample, especially if there is a risk of copying the original product during export.

First you add your items to your list, then highlight them for customers to notice them. China is both the main exporter and importer of tires, so good luck!

Vatslav, all you need to do right now is just to add your products to the website. There are no problems or restrictions with this. If you want, you can use the highlight feature for your product to advertise it all over the world. Nowadays, there are countless numbers of cars in every country all over the world. I insure you, that people would like yo buy good tires at good prices. And, how said Neil, China is the main exporter and importer of tires. Good luck!

    • It is easy!
      11/23/2016 11:00 AM

First of all, you have to make your products visible to customers and international companies. It is important to prepare a qualitative banner with detailed description of the product. People who are looking for your products, are going to notice it one way or another. You can also participate in Forum discussions, where people share experience and indicate their needs.

    Export and Import in Europe
Hello! Our company is specialized in oil paintings. We want to expand our business and sell paintings abroad. Could you please tell us if there are some restrictions regarding export/import of artwork?
    Answer this 2 answers
    • Verified paintings
      04/20/2016 10:24 AM

I believe when some paintings are exported, these are verified on not containing toxic elements. If yours are OK, it's OK. Also, if some state paintings go in an exhibition tour through countries, the same procedure may be applied.

    • Art export is not as difficult as you think!
      11/23/2016 10:55 AM

Of course, there are dome difficulties in exporting art abroad. This happens due to the fact that, leaders of countries around the world have become increasingly concerned about the loss of national treasures - historical and religious monuments - and works of art that form their homeland's cultural heritage, and they have enacted laws to protect these objects and keep them within their borders. The exported art work is going to pass through a number of testings. The longest process is establishing the work validity and provenance. In the same time, the exporter has to prove that the art work is not stolen and does not influence negatively the country of origin's cultural aspects. You have to apply for an export license. The rules change from one country to the next, but that is not the only thing that could confuse the buyer or seller of art. The nations with embargoes and restrictions often have considerable black-market activity, and the sellers of this contraband may successfully persuade tourists that desired pieces are no problem to take out of the country. Be attentive while selling art works which belong to famous artists! It is much easier with your own art works. You just have to present the certificate of ownership.
