Manage estimates

To access the "Estimate" page, users have to click on "Estimate" button in "Activity" menu of the dashboard navigation.

The "Estimates" page is divided in three columns.

  1. shows all statuses;
  2. shows estimates list filtered by the selected status;
  3. shows estimate's details.

Estimates statuses list:

  1. New estimates (in this status the seller has to propose the price for the requested quantity);
  2. Waiting for the buyer (the buyer is expected to accept/decline/reply to the seller's estimate);
  3. Waiting for the seller (the seller is expected to decline/reply to the buyer's estimate);
  4. Accepted;
  5. Order initiated (list of estimates that caused the creation of new orders);
  6. Declined;
  7. Expired;
  8. Archived (while having the status "Order initiated", "Declined" or "Expired" the estimate can be transferred to the status "Archived". The buyer and the seller can archive the estimates independently for themselves. This is done so they can easily find them in the future.);

To answer to the buyer estimate request, the seller have to fill up and submit this form:

When seller answer to the estimate, the estimate status is changed to "Waiting for the buyer".

Now the buyer can accept the seller's responce by clicking on "Confirm estimate" button:

Buyer can also continue to discuss the estimate by clicking on "Answer to the estimate" button and filling up the form:

As you can see the buyer does not have access to modify the price of the estimate, he/she can only add some message for seller. 
If buyer answered to the estimate, the status is changed back to "Waiting for the seller".

The discussion will continue until the buyer will "Accept" or "Decline" the estimate.

After the acceptance the buyer have to add "Shipping to address" and the order will be initiated.

Note: When the estimate expires, it is moved to Declined status. Accepted and Declined estimates older than 3 months will be moved to Archived folder
